Feast your eyes on this portrait of Giacomo del Sparro. If there were moving pictures in the 15th century, del Sparro would have been a film star, for certain. This portrait was created by the great Master Giovanni de Deppi.
The location of this painting is unknown as experts believe it was recently stolen and lost at sea.
It is said that Del Sparro was a legendary pirate. As you can imagine, he was known to be quite the ladies’ man. Richer than even the Medicis, he is said to have acquired his fortune by stealing gold from sailing ships.
Sort of a Pirate of the Mediterranean.
